The excitement is mounting for the upcoming 33rd Annual U.S. Open King Mackerel Tournament taking place from September 29 - Oct. 1, 2011. The organizational meeting for Captains will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Southport Marina, tournament headquarters so don't miss it. The weigh-in station will be at Southport Marina. The check-in points will be from the Southport City Pier and South Harbour Marina Gas dock, ICW.On tournament days, competition hours are 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, September 30 and 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 1. The event is sponsored by and benefits the Southport-Oak Island Area Chamber of Commerce.
