Thousands of vacationing families visit the Ingram Planetarium every year while in the area or even just traveling through. It's one of those Must See destinations especially if you have children. There is an assortment of special events taking place throughout the year. You're sure to enjoy learning all about exoplanets in Undiscovered Worlds. This event discusses the hundreds of planets that orbit the stars far beyond our sun. Come learn all about these newly discovered planets and the impact their discovery has on our solar system as weâve known it.What child wouldnât want to experience a rocket launch from inside an astronautâs body! Theyâll explore the worlds of both inner and outer space while they experience floating around the International Space Station and traveling through microscopic regions of the human body. These are experience that will stay with them for a lifetime. You wonât want to miss the SciDome Sky Theatre shows held during the day. Hourly shows such as Undiscovered Worlds, Astronaut, Dynamic Earth and Seven Wonders are shown during the day. Regularly priced Ski Theatre programs are followed by a live star show. Laser Music Shows are held in the evenings at SciDome Sky Theatre. Stunning laser shows are performed to music from artists such as Led Zeppelin, U2, Pink Floyd, as well as country artists. Admission is free for Planetarium and Dual Museum/Planetarium members. Per-show non-member admission: $8 adults (13-61), $7 seniors (62+), $6 children (3-12), and free for ages 2 and under.Dynamic Earth, another show at the Planetarium, explores the inner workings of the climate system found on Earthâs. This is a cutting-edge production that the whole family is sure to enjoy. Youâll follow a trail of energy that flows from the Sun into the interlocking systems of the atmosphere, oceans, and the biosphere that shape our climate. Enjoy the thrill of riding on the swirling ocean and wind currents, dive into the heart of a monster hurricane, come face-to-face with sharks and gigantic whales, and fly into volcanoes. Hours from January 10 through May 17, 2014: â¨Friday and Saturday doors open at 11:30 a.m. May 23 through September 1, 2014: Monday through Saturday doors open at 10:30 a.m. Closed on Sunday. There is free admission for Planetarium members to all events. Non-member per-show admission is: $8 Adults (13-61), $7 Seniors (62+), $6 Children (3-12), and age 2 and under are admitted free. In addition, if you attend more than one show, you will receive $1 off the price of subsequent shows. Please arrive early for showings as we cannot admit late arrivals.
